More training time needed, says GWS Giants coach Tim Schmidt
Greater Western Sydney women's coach Tim Schmidt has called on the AFL to increase the amount of hours coaching staff have with their players as a step towards increasing the quality of the competition.
Schmidt said the time he and his coaches were allowed to spend with the players wasn't enough to mould an elite sports team.
"It's been quite tough to have that time management because you're trying to get the girls up to speed to be elite sportspeople and a lot of them haven't actually played elite sports before," he said.
