Tim Schmidt to coach GWS Giants’ women's team after playing career with Sydney Swans
FORMER Sydney Swan Tim Schmidt will be the first coach of the GWS Giants women’s team.
Schmidt, who was at the Swans for six seasons and played 17 games, said he was excited about leading the Giants’ female team in next year’s inaugural women’s AFL competition.
“I love that development side of footy and seeing the improvement over time,” Schmidt said.
“Some players they are still quite raw in comparison to the male space, as far as knowledge and understanding so to be able to teach that to them, from what I have learnt from my mentors, that’s what I love about it.”
